LAND AND SEA began in 2009 as a small, independent press based in Oakland California.  Definitely not a record label, and definitely not a stereotypical "publisher", Maria Otero and Chris Duncan  have carved their own path which combines all aspects of art, music, performance and literary culture at any given time. Their efforts have brought opportunities to host performances in art centers and museums around the states, and they  have seen their editions collected by major arts institutions. Two years ago LAND AND SEA opened up a 900sq ft store front studio in Oakland to host experimental sound performances and other types of non-commercial art happenings as an extension of their object and edition making efforts.
